13 May 2020: AVARE online meeting

On the 13th of May the project partners of AVARE came together for the third project meeting. Due to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic the originally planned meeting in Uppsala had to be cancelled and got replaced by an online meeting.

Main topics were the work packages three “Sustainability assessment” and five “Communication and dissemination”. Christina Strotmann from the Insititute for Sustainable Nutrition led the discussion for the dissemination actions. Main goal of the work package is to publish the results of AVARE to different target groups. Therefore the idea is to create different training or educational materials which summarize the results of the whole project. In the end of the discussion all partners determined target groups and set first visions for different types of educational material. For the work package three, Mattias Eriksson gave an overview about current food waste measurements from the SLU. Also first results from the life cycle assessment of the food waste valorisation got presented by LUKE and were discussed with partners from TU Berlin. The participating partners from work package two and three also discussed next project steps.

In the next project meeting the focus will be lying on upcoming international workshops.
